Tiny tooth Adventure - The journey of milk tooth
The Arrival
Hello there! My name is Milky, and I’m a brand new milk tooth. I sprouted in little Emily’s mouth just a few months ago. It’s been quite an adventure so far, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
I remember the day I first poked through Emily’s gums. It was a bright sunny morning, and Emily’s mom noticed her first tiny tooth peeking out. She was so excited! Emily’s giggles and smiles made me feel like the most special tooth in the world.
The Decay:
wow..!! today Emily’s dad brought her chocolates.. so yummy.. she is eating a lot.. we wish to have chocolates and sweet every day.
after few months.. why there is a brown spot on my face.. “Emily.. please look in to your tooth. it turning black”… . she is not listening my cry.. more sweets…Oh.. these sweets are tasty but after eating them at night the acids are eating me.. Look I lost a part of me.
The dentist visit:
Emily’s mother took her to a dentist. The doctor is very kind and fun towards Emily. she said that the reasons for tooth decay are
- Not Brushing Enough: If we don’t brush our teeth well, tiny bits of food stay in our mouth and cause problems.
- Eating Too Many Sweets: Foods like candy, cookies, and sugary drinks can hurt our teeth if we have them too often.
- Bottles at Bedtime: If a baby goes to sleep with a bottle of milk or juice, it can stay on their teeth and cause decay. Water is okay, though!
- Not Enough Fluoride: Fluoride is a mineral that helps keep teeth strong. Sometimes we don’t get enough from water or toothpaste.
- Sharing Germs: Using the same spoon or cleaning a pacifier with your mouth can spread bacteria that cause decay.
The doctor also gave us tips to prevent decay like
- Clean from the Start: Even before teeth come in, wipe your baby’s gums with a clean cloth. When teeth appear, brush them gently with a small amount of fluoride toothpaste.
- Healthy Eating: Try to keep sweets as a treat and not an everyday thing. Water is the best drink for your teeth.
- Visit the Dentist: Take your child to the dentist by their first birthday and keep going regularly.
- Use Fluoride: Make sure your child gets enough fluoride, which might be in your tap water or toothpaste.
- Avoid Bottles at Bedtime: If your child needs a bottle to sleep, fill it with water instead of milk or juice.
She also add few words about What to Do If There’s Decay?
- Dentist Check-Up: The dentist might put a special fluoride treatment on the teeth to make them stronger.
- Fillings or Crowns: If there are cavities, the dentist can fix them with fillings. Sometimes, a small crown is needed.
- Tooth Removal: If the tooth is really bad, it might need to be taken out to keep the mouth healthy.
Taking care of baby teeth is super important because they help your child eat, speak, and have a healthy smile. Regular brushing, a healthy diet, and dentist visits can make a big difference!
